CFP® professionals are held to strict ethical standards. What’s more, a CFP® professional must acquire several years of experience related to delivering financial planning services to clients and pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Exam before they can call themselves a CFP® professional.
Fee-Only financial planners are compensated directly by our clients for advice, plan implementation, and for the ongoing management of assets. This method of compensation is transparent, minimizes conflict and ensures that your financial planner acts as a fiduciary.
Every client’s life is unique, and deserves a customized plan and investment portfolio designed specifically to assist them in confidently achieving their retirement vision.
I’m the proud son of an Air Force Veteran and a loving stay-at-home mom who raised four children. As a military brat, I spent my early years bouncing from Oklahoma, where I was born, to Germany, Rhode Island, Illinois, and Montana, before my father retired and settled in Rhode Island.
In 1991 I started Star Medical, a durable medical supply company, which still operates today. Having a passion for financial planning, I went back to school earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Southern New Hampshire University and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from Bryant University.
To add practical experience, I went to work for a large registered investment advisory firm where I spent almost five years. As I worked my way from Associate to the Director of Financial Planning, I could only describe my experience as a baptism by fire. While difficult at times, it would be impossible to replace the magnitude of real-world experience gained and I consider my time their to have been invaluable. Frustrated by the inability to focus my time exclusively on clients, I decided to start my own firm and since 2012, I have had the great pleasure of helping families, all while doing what I love.
My wife Carrie and I live in Wickford with our two Brussell Griffons, Georgina and Theodore.
